Helllllooooooo!
Remember me? I’m Piper!
So much has happened since the last time I was here.
I have THREE teeth!
I have attended my first wedding, which also coincided with my first beach visit.
It was kind of cold and misty.
AND, I got my first big girl stroller!
Mommy, Grandpa and I went to the L.A. County fair and used this stroller. It was hotter than anything that day, but I was SO good! That stroller is so comfy.
Also, since I’ve been gone, I have a new cousin! My uncle Shawn had a baby boy named Xander.
I’m eating meats now (well, chicken and turkey), and starting to eat more things Mommy and Daddy eat. I love pancakes.
I can pull up and cruise (when the object in my sights is Woofie, I can move pretty fast!), and I crawl like the wind now. I can say a modified version of “Bird”, and I say “Hi” as well as “Dada”.
Mama is going to have to wait, birds are much more fun!
Most important:
I FINALLY got to meet Auntie Bluebell and Uncle Bluebell! I love them, and let them hold me!
Love,
Piper
I Can Teef!
Finally, a mere two days before my 8 month birthday, I have news. This is why I’m back. So I can gloat.
I am now crawling. Wanna see? Here!
Also, as if that wasn’t enough to prove my baby geniusosity, I now have a tooth sprouting!
It is sharp. I am not too sure of the pain, but it’s there. Ask my Mommy’s finger. It has felt my wrath. When my mommy was doing some work today I grabbed her hand and put her finger in my mouth. She was surprised because I have had no signs of teeth and now- OW!
So, milestones are coming and going…
I am still here! Just a little bit harder to catch.
Love,
Piper
Pool Day!
I Like Squash
Banished
Well, Mommy’s gone and done it- I now have to sleep exclusively (wow, that was a hard word) in my crib. It took a week of rolling around to really get my scent on everything, but I’m positive my crib now smells of me.
Mommy is so entertained by my position in the crib that she’s debating getting a video monitor. I think it would be cool to put Woofie in my crib and see what he does- I bet he pees, he does that, you know.
It was quite a shock moving from the small bassinet to the big crib- so much room in there! I’m getting used to it, so it Mommy- she can now bring the sides down!
Mother’s Day
Yesterday was Mommy’s first Mother’s Day! I was nice and let her sleep in (well, after I woke up at 5:50 for some food) until 9am! Then, Daddy and I had a little plan- I keep her away from the kitchen so Daddy can make her some food! I’m pretty sure she loved it.
Now, for the big news:
Yes! I’m eating rice cereal!
And LOVING IT.
I can say it was a (tasty) success!
We went to see Grandma, and give her our presents, then we were able to come home and have a nice bath and go to sleep. It was a good day!
Love,
Piper
Milestones
Mommy Embarrasses Me
How?
She puts me in Build a Bear sunglasses, which fit remarkably well.
Takes me to the Renaissance Faire.
She takes pictures of me in various states of undress, and sends them to Daddy saying I’m “mooning” him.
Then, she takes me to visit my cousins and lets them put me on one of those “American Girl” play horses for the dolls!
In my mommy’s defense, I did enjoy it at some point, there just isn’t photographic evidence! Also, revenge would be mine- I totally pooped up the back of my onesie, and it was Guh-ROSS.
Mommy loves me so much, I know, but she’s also kind of silly. Still, that picture of my butt makes Daddy smile very hard, so we think it’s worth it. I just hope she never shows these to my prom date!
Love,
Piper
Auntie Bluebell
My Auntie Bluebell is the best. Not only was she suuuper happy I was created (Mommy told her before she even told her family! After Daddy, Mommy told Auntie Bluebell next), but I think she’s like, my biggest non-relative fan.
I’d show you a picture of her, but well… I have to keep up her right to privacy, and well… I have never met her. I know, right? Mommy has these friends she calls “Internet friends”. These are people she talks to when I’m sleeping (yes, she should be doing work), on a thing called google chat? It’s kind of fun, I heard. Anyway, she’s had friends like this for awhile, but Auntie Bluebell is kind of her favorite (sorry everyone, she’s known her for almost five years now, though).
I think Auntie Bluebell kind of likes Mommy too, because she’s always super nice to all of us (even Grandpa who she’s never even spoken to!), and is like the super coolest person. Auntie Bluebell gave me my highchair and something else super cool!
First, how cute is my highchair? I mean really. I have a thing for owls, my room is outfitted in them. Yes, I didn’t choose them, Mommy did, but they’re still fun to look at. Anyway, the highchair is good because I use it to recline in while Mommy and Daddy are sitting at that big wooden table doing what they call “eating”. Someday I’ll try some of that stuff, I hope! So the highchair is pretty much my favorite place to sit because I get a toy that plays music when I sit there! When Mommy presses the head it makes music and she dances. It’s funny. I guess you have to be there?
That brings me to the newest cool thing from Auntie Bluebell: Bags the Elephant! It was a present just for me, even though Mommy likes to rub her face on it (getting old Mommy germs all over it, gross). I know it was for me because it has MY name on it!
Here he is:
You can kind of see the face, it also has a TAIL!
Bags is the best and I love him so. I will lay on my back and flap his ear on my face, or Mommy will tickle my ear with his tail. I think I heard Mommy wish they made these in grown-up sizes! How funny!
Anyway, thank you, Auntie Bluebell for always thinking of me. I can’t wait to see you in September, let’s make sure it happens, okay? Mommy keeps mentioning places she wants you to go, and something about “All the avocado and sourdough bread she can cram into her carryon”, whatever that means!
Say hi to Uncle J Bluebell for me, please! And Albi! And ZB!
Love,
Piper
Piper @ Work
So yeah, I can pretty much flip over any way I want now. Front to back? Yep. Back to front? Sure! Right to left? Left to right? I can do it all! I was pretty entertained by it, until Mommy had to get all freaked out when I did it on the changing table.
What a worrier, that Mommy.
Wanna check out this cool picture of me?
That’s me at work! Everyone here calls that the “green chair”. It’s super comfy but veeery slippery, which is why I had to hold on to it.
If I had a badge for work, I’d totally want that picture on it. Don’t I look laid back and cool?
Love,
Piper
P.S I still love being in my own room! To see Mommy, all I have to do is make a little noise and she comes to say hi and feed me!
